Files
Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open
standard for document exchange. The file format created by Adobe
Systems in 1993 is used for representing documents in a manner
independent of the application software, hardware, and operating
systems.Any computer can read them and PDF files are virus
free. PDF readers are
free and most PCs and some newer browsers have a way to open for you
to read.During the DeafNation 2011 event, I was told that some of
the website's visitors
cannot read these files....much to my
surprise. Here are instructions to install a
free, fast, lightweight PDF reader.
A little work now and you will be able to open any PDF file safely
and fast. Portable out of the box. And very,
very simple. Go to their website:
Sumatra PDF if the file does not download automatically, just
click on
Download "installer" and click "Run"
A yellow box will pop up and you will need to click on "Options" on
the left
Click on "Use SumatraPDF as the default PDF reader"
IF you are also using FireFox, Chrome or Opera, click on "Install
PDF browser plugin
The last box is optional, I clicked yes on mine.
Click on Install "SumatraPDF"
Click on Start "SumatraPDF"
Close this out and you are done Now you can
open any PDF flyer or file and enjoy! For
testing, try opening this PDF file
Instructions for this page and the
JPG Files page were
originally
posted on a tech website that is currently on hold.
